Children’s First Day School (“Sunday School” is offered on the first and third Sundays of each month, from September through June. Children are exposed to different topics, including what Quakers believe and how Quakers are active in the world today.

Childcare for younger children will be offered during worship every Sunday starting sometime in the Fall of 2023 when we have completed a hiring process (see below).


Job Position Available – Childcare Provider for Sunday Mornings

Job Description:

Yardley Friends Meeting (located at 65 N. Main Street in Yardley, PA) is hiring an experienced childcare professional to care for young children (Toddlers to approximately age 9) during our worship services on Sunday mornings (hours required 9:45 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.).

Applicants must be 16 years or older and enjoy spending time and playing with young children. Prior experience caring for children required and must be responsible and communicative.  Applicants should be available every Sunday.  Background check and child abuse clearance are required in this position.

Compensation will be $25.00 for each Sunday.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

1. On Sundays, arrive by 9:45 a.m. Introduce yourself to any children as they arrive with their parents. Play with children in the classroom, and possibly outdoors, during the hour of worship and then bring children into the worship room to rejoin families at the rise of meeting at 11:00 a.m.

2. Classroom is fully stocked with age-appropriate toys, games and activities to engage young children.

3. Communicate any important information about the children present each week with their parents and/or members of the Religious Education Committee.
